Nicosia

St Hilarion Castle

Bellapais Abbey
To the north east of Kyrenia, set on the side of a mountain, this twelfth century monastery is a fine example of Gothic architecture of the Lusignan period. The abbey comprises of a church, refectory, dormitory and storage rooms grouped around an inner courtyard.
Kyrenia Castle
The castle, which lies to the northeast of Kyrenia, dominates the harbour and is built on the tetragonal form. Lying at the east of the castle is the ancient shipwreck museum, housing the oldest trading ship known, which was raised from the bottom of the sea with her cargo.
Marine Life in North Cyprus
About 46 sandy beaches in North Cyprus comprise the main nesting grounds for the two main types of sea-turtles.
